Detroit Auto Show- Highlight was the New Ford Mustang 7th generation

The iconic New Ford Mustang 7th generation has finally been unveiled by Ford. The new Mustang has updated aesthetics from top to bottom. However, still retains recognizable Mustang design characteristics when it is unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show in 2022, which has returned after a brief hiatus.

Design and Features

The new pony car debuts with a contemporary twist on its vintage appearance. This is a technique Ford has mastered since incorporating  retro theme into the 2005 5th generation vehicle. Even while a lot has changed since then, key design elements are same. Such the tri-bar LED tail lamps, fastback roofline, and little rear overhang, have persisted. These features all pay homage to the original design in some way.

The sports car also has an updated front bumper design with air intakes, a big bonnet extractor, sharper-looking LED tail lights, a larger diffuser, and new quad-exhaust pipes. The new front grille was inspired by the 1964 model. The 2018 Mustang comes standard with 18-inch wheels, but optional 19- and 20-inch alloy wheels are also available. Both the 5.0-liter “Coyote” V8 and the 2.3-liter twin-scroll turbocharged Ecoboost four-cylinder remain under the hood. And the former is believed to have undergone a thorough overhaul, including a new turbo, capacity, and stroke. While the naturally aspirated V8 receives less significant upgrades, it does have a new twin cold-air intake. The 5.0-liter V8 will come standard with a 10-speed automatic transmission. While the 2.3-liter engine will only be available as an option. Ford might provide a manual transmission for the highest-end Mustang GT.

The 7th-generation Mustang has an unified dual-screen arrangement on the outside. Moreover, it consists of a 13.2-inch touchscreen entertainment system and a 12.4-inch digital instrument cluster. A redesigned smooth steering wheel, a wireless charging pad are also added. Furthermore, a full complement of safety systems, and a massive amount of other technology are also included in the cabin’s amenities.

Colors and Entertainment Offered

The Mustang will have a total of 11 exterior colour options, including the two new ones, Vapor Blue and Yellow Splash. Customers can further customise their new companion car by selecting from a variety of interior and exterior options. One to mention is the Bronze design aesthetic package, which includes alloy wheels and bronze insignia.

The center stack will be powered by Sync 4, and it will offer the typical navigation and entertainment features in addition to serving as the home screen for many auto settings. The communication elements of Sync 4 will, of course, be Apple Car Play and Android Auto compatible and enable over-the-air software updates for the Mustang. A wireless charging pad is an option in the center console, and an optional B&O Sound System is an audio improvement. There is also Amazon Alexa Built-In for voice control.

Prior to other international markets, the 7th-generation Ford Mustang will first be on sale in the USA in the summer of 2023. Prices will be revealed nearer the time of the US debut.
