Best Apps Of 2022 Awards announced by Apple today

Best Apps Of 2022

Apple published a list of Best Apps of 2022 winners today, along with the most popular list of both free and paid apps and games in terms of downloads. All of the company’s platforms, including the iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Mac, and Apple TV, are represented in these awards for apps. The 16 winning apps were chosen by Apple’s “Global App Store editorial team” for “delivering exceptional experiences and making a profound cultural impact”. The winners this year represent an international development community that is diverse.

iPhone app of the year:  Be Real

BeReal, a social media app, was created to give users an honest glimpse into the lives of their family and friends. Its distinctive trick is that at certain intervals throughout the day, each member of your friend and the family group receives a notice requesting them to snap and submit a photo within two minutes to communicate what they’re up to at the time. Regardless of how dull that may seem. This is a welcome difference from Instagram users who only post their most glamorous moments.

iPad App of the Year: GoodNotes 5

GoodNotes 5 is a digital note-taking app.  Therefore, it doesn’t stand out much in the world of apps. However, Apple chose it over a plethora of alternatives because of what it terms best in-class Apple Pencil support.

Mac App of the Year: MacFamilyTree 10

Designed to meet the enormous demand for family history research, MacFamilyTree 10’s comprehensive and in-depth toolkit, which includes gorgeously designed family trees and improved collaboration with relatives around the world, makes the pastime more rewarding, enjoyable, and simple.

Apple TV App of the Year: ViX

This is one of the most desirable and well-known prizes on Apple’s list each year, so it may come as a surprise that ViX, the winner this year, targets a somewhat specialised user group. Though the main goal is to make Spanish-language tales more prominent in the entertainment world, Apple might have been more impressed by its broad content-gathering skills than by its particular linguistic concentration.

Apple Watch App of the Year: Gentler Streak

Given the Watch connection, this one has to be related to health in some way.The reassuringly named Gentler Streak, which focuses on assisting users in balancing fitness with rest for a healthier lifestyle, is no surprise that Apple has chosen to award its Apple Watch App award to the app. In light of the fact that the topic of work-life balance is very much in the news right now, particularly in light of Covid.

iPhone Game of the Year: Apex Legends Mobile

Since this is one of the most coveted Apple app awards, Electronic Arts will undoubtedly be exceedingly pleased with its Apex Legends Mobile victory this year. Naturally, this is the mobile version of the fast-paced battle royale game that was also a big hit on the most recent PC and gaming consoles.

iPad Game of the Year: Moncage

It’s fantastic to see Moncage receiving such high-level praise from Apple because it has undoubtedly helped this writer while away a fair few hours with its curiously calming perspective-based puzzles this year.

Mac Game of the Year: Inscryption

Roguelike deck-building game Inscryption was created by Daniel Mullins Games and released by Devolver Digital. It is a self-destructive love letter to card-based gameplay, riddles like to those found in escape rooms, and psychological terror in video games.

Apple TV Game of the Year: El Hijo

Created by HandyGames, El Hijo is a crisply designed stealth game that’s also caught Apple’s eye because it delivers some of the best graphics on a connected 4K TV that you can currently get from the Apple TV platform.

Apple Arcade Game of the Year: Wylde Flowers

This game from Studio Drydock Pty Limited invites players into a charming, engaging world of diverse characters, magical spells, and gardening with a Nintendo throwback time.

China Game of the Year: League of Legends Esports Manager

This year, Apple will highlight a game made in China. That game is League of Legends Esports Manager, and Apple chose it because of the innovative way it lets players manage the most influential esports leagues in the world.

Cultural Impact Winners

Apple’s App Store editors chose five winners for “Cultural Impact,” apps and games that have had a lasting impact on people’s lives and influenced culture in addition to being recognized as the best apps and games for Apple devices. The winners of this year encourage users to think about how they can make the world a better place today while also encouraging them to connect with others in a genuine way, pay homage to their heritage and the generations that came before them, and engage more deeply with their emotions.

How We Feel

How We Feel assists users in putting challenging emotions into words and offers techniques to deal with these emotions in the moment by encouraging users to tap into their emotional well-being with the simplicity of daily check-ins.

Dot’s Home

Through a compelling and “thoughtful time-traveling story”, Dot’s Home focuses on systemic housing injustices and their impact on communities of color.

Locket Widget

Locket Widget frees loved ones from the constraints of traditional social media by allowing users to send live photos directly to their Home Screen.

Waterllama

Waterllama keeps users on track with creative challenges, reminders, and cuddly characters that make meeting hydration goals fun. Its colorful design and gentle guidance keep users on track.

Apple has honoured the best games and apps at the end of each year for more than a decade. Each winner is presented with a tangible award modelled after the recognizable blue App Store icon as a way to acknowledge the impact made by the winning developer teams. The award was made with great care and features the name of the winner engraved on the reverse side of the App Store logo, which is embedded in 100% recycled aluminium that is used to make Apple products.
